In 630 AD most of Arabia unified under single religion called Islam. And now the days there are more than 1.8 billion followers around the world who believes “There is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is His prophet.”
The Life of Muhammad (PBUH)
Hazrat Muhammad was born in Saudi Arabia (Mecca) in 570 AD. The father of Hazrat Muhammad named “Abdullah ibn Abd al-Muttalib” was died before his birth. His grandfather “Abd al-Muttalib” and uncle “Abu Talib” took charge of his care. He was born in a poor but the most respectable tribe of Arab called “Quraysh”.
At his time Mostly tribes of Arab were nomadic and did trade via goods. These tribes worship their own Gods. Mecca was an important point for all of these tribes for trading and religious centers. The key site was the “Kaaba” built by Abraham and his son Ismail. Gradually the people of Mecca start believing that Allah is the greatest only one without an idol.
During his teen age, Muhammad worked in a camel caravan. After that working for his uncle he gained experience in commercial trade. As time passed Muhammad was start knowing as most honest and sincere person and got nickname “al-Amin”.
Married with Khadijah
In the age of 20s, Muhammad start working for a well known woman of Mecca named Khadijah. She got attracted by Muhammad and sent marriage proposal. Muhammad accepted this proposal and got married with her.
Muhammad (PBUH) as Prophet
Muhammad was very religious from his childhood and occasionally he goes to sacred sites near Mecca for worship. In 610 AD he was in a cave on Mount “Jabal aI-Nour”. An angel named “Gabriel” appeared and recited “Recite in the name of your Lord who creates, creates man from a clot! Reciting for your lord is most generous” These words later became the opening verses of Surah “Iqra” the 96 surah of Quran. Most Islamic scholars and historians believe that this got Muhammad initially disturbed and he didn’t reveal it publicly for several years. The first person who started believing was his wife “Khadija” and his close companion “ABU Bakr”. After some time He got a small following group in Mecca. Most of the people started ignoring him and mocked him.
When Muhammad condemned idol worship most of Mecca tribes start threaten him to leave this way. Due to these threats, Mecca’s merchants offered Muhammad incentives to abandon his preaching, but he refused.
Due to high resistance Muhammad and his followers emigrate from Mecca to Medina. Medina is situated 260 miles away from Mecca in the North. From this migration Muslim calendar takes place called “Hijri Calendar”. As they got settled in Medina Muslim start building their community and gathering.
During 624 to 628 era muslims were involved in a series of battles for their survival. At the end of this tenure Muhaamd and his followers signed a treaty called “Siege of Median” with Meccans. This treaty was broken by Meccan allies after a year. After that Muslim marchd into Mecca and took the charge. Most of Mecca population converted to Islam and all the idols and pagan gods were destroyed by muslims in 630.
The Death of Muhammad (PBUH)
Muslim got control over Mecca and Muhammad took his first Hajj in 632. He delivered his last speech at Mount Arafat. After returning to Medina he fell ill for several days. Due to fever he died on June 8, 632 in his house. He was buried at Masjid- Nabawi The first Mosque built by Prophet Muhammad
